Our in-house gunsmiths at Capitol Range & Firearms handle everything from a $20 sight adjustment to complete AR-15 upper and lower builds. We’re in Youngsville, about 15 minutes from Wake Forest and 25 minutes up US-1 from downtown Raleigh, with the range right next door so you can test your firearm after the work is done.
What We Work On
- Cleaning and diagnosis: general and deep cleans, plus troubleshooting for guns that won’t run right
- Sights and optics: Glock and dovetail sight installs, windage adjustments, bore sighting with mount installation
- Pistol triggers: Glock connector and trigger kit installs
- AR platform: upper and lower builds, gas block conversions, rail installs, muzzle devices and suppressor mounts, pin-and-weld, staking
- Custom work: laser engraving and machine work, quoted per job
How Drop-Off Works
- Tell us what you need. Call our gunsmith line at (919) 435-0520 or email gunsmithing@capitolrange.com.
- Bring your firearm in unloaded and cased during business hours: Mon–Fri 11 AM–8 PM, Sat 10 AM–8 PM, Sun 11 AM–6 PM.
- We’ll contact you when it’s ready. Ask about current turnaround when you drop off.
Buying parts or an optic? Pick them up at the True North Firearm Center counter, have us install them, then zero everything on one of our 20 indoor lanes. Members get free lane time, so the test-fire costs nothing; see our range memberships.

How much does it cost to have a gun cleaned?
A general clean is $45 and a deep clean is $60 at Capitol Range in Youngsville, NC.
Can you install a red dot or scope and bore sight it?
Yes. Bore sighting with mount and installation runs $40 to $60, and you can test it on our indoor range the same visit.
Do you build AR-15s?
Yes. We assemble AR-15 uppers and lowers for $80 each in labor, and handle gas blocks, rails, muzzle devices, suppressor mounts, pin-and-weld and trigger installs.
Can you install a muzzle device for my suppressor?
Yes. A muzzle brake, flash hider or suppressor mount installed with shim timing is $35.
