The Area's Only Digital Live Fire Range
Paper doesn’t move. Paper doesn’t shoot back, keep score or tell you that your second shot landed two inches low and 0.4 seconds late.
Our digital range does. You fire real ammunition from a real gun at a large interactive screen, and the system scores every hit the instant it lands. It’s training, it’s a game, and it’s the area’s only digital live fire range, right here in Youngsville, about 25 minutes north of downtown Raleigh.
How a Digital Live Fire Range Works
Let’s clear up the biggest misconception first: this is not a laser simulator or a VR headset.
You shoot live rounds. The bullet passes through a specialized screen into a bullet trap behind it, and the EV-R Target System from Evolve Range Solutions detects the exact point of impact in milliseconds. The scenario on screen reacts immediately: a target drops, a timer stops, a score climbs.
You get real recoil, real noise and real follow-through, paired with instant, honest feedback.
Real rounds, smart targets, instant scores. Find it in Youngsville, about 25 minutes up US-1 from downtown Raleigh and 15 minutes from Wake Forest.

What You Can Do in the Blue Bay
We built a dedicated 10-lane bay, the Blue Bay, for digital shooting. Each lane runs a library of programs:
- Skill drills: plate racks, transitions and timed draws that track your splits
- Games: digital darts, battleship, zombie survival and head-to-head challenges
- Scenarios: shoot/no-shoot decisions with targets that move and react to what you do
- Scorekeeping: accuracy, time and split data after every string
Run the same drill twice and you’ll see exactly what improved. Run something new and you’ll find out what didn’t.
Who Loves It
First-time shooters. A static paper target can feel like a test. A game feels like fun. Beginners relax, focus on grip and trigger control, and see results immediately. If it’s your very first time, start with our first-time shooters page.
Concealed carriers and serious students. Decision-making under time pressure is the skill paper can’t teach. Our instructors use the bay in defensive training classes for exactly that reason.
Groups, date nights and teams. Competitive games turn a range trip into an event. It’s a natural fit for birthdays, friend groups and corporate team-building.
Law enforcement and competitors. Timed drills and split tracking give you measurable data to train against, session after session.

Prefer Paper Sometimes?
We have that too. Our main range offers 20 traditional indoor lanes, including five 75-foot lanes. Many members split their time: fundamentals on paper, pressure on digital. A range membership makes that easy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a digital live fire range a simulator?
No. You shoot real firearms with real ammunition. The rounds pass through an interactive screen into a bullet trap, and sensors register each hit instantly.
Do I need special ammunition for the digital range?
No. Standard ammunition that meets our range rules works. The system detects the bullet itself, not anything special about it.
Is the digital range safe?
Yes. The screen sits in front of a bullet trap designed for live fire, and a range safety officer supervises every session.
Can I bring a group to the digital range?
Yes. Competitive games make it great for friends, families, parties and corporate team-building. Call ahead to reserve multiple lanes.
Is the digital range good for beginners?
Very. Instant feedback shows new shooters exactly where each round went, so they correct mistakes faster and build confidence quickly.
